Kentrol at SEMA 2016
Kentrol had a great year at the 2016 SEMA Show with the release of 4 exciting new products. SEMA offers Kentrol an opportunity to meet with existing and new customers, SEMA also offers an opportunity to showcase items we spent a lot of time developing and manufacturing. The 4 new Jeep products we released at the show are #80706 Shackle Mounted License Plate Bracket, #80703 BackSide License Plate Mount with LED’s, #80704 and #80705 Mechanical Hood Catch Kits and the #80702 Heritage Tail Light Guards. For Kentrol, this was the first year that we showcased new products in the new products showcase. To Kentrol… it was a big deal and it was nice to see all of our hard work sitting inside of the case.
Each year at SEMA you see celebrities from the automotive world, late night TV shows and reality TV. This year Juan Ibarra from the hit show Gold Rush stopped by the Kentrol booth to view a few products, apparently one of his family members is a Jeeper. It was interesting to speak with him about the show and he also showed us a $10,000 gold bar that his father called the “Chocolate Bar”.
The last day of the show offers something unique and fun to watch. SEMA Ignited which showcases all the vehicles of SEMA driving down the street in Las Vegas. You’ll see everything from Trophy Trucks, ridiculous Jeeps, Race Cars and Super Cars that you could only dream of owning. Kentrol spent some time taking in the sights and sounds before dinner on Friday night. It’s too crazy not to stop and watch.
The SEMA show takes place in Las Vegas and because of its location you have a few late nights with customers. The rule states that you can’t talk about what happens in Vegas, but one event is too fun not to share. On Friday night we had our Kentrol company dinner with all employees, after dinner we hopped in a cab to go back to the hotel and an Audi R8 supercar happened to be lined up with us a red light. We won’t mention names, but one of our employees talked the cab driver into racing the R8. The cabby is lurching the car forward at the light, revving the cab and waiting anxiously for the light to change. During this our employee is talking a little friendly trash to the driver of the R8 out the window. The light changes and the Cabby floors it… we hop out on the R8 because he didn’t think we were serious, then to prove a point the R8 easily passed us. It depends on who you talk to… but in the 60 foot we had him!
